Great support shown for Phibsboro' Village Tidy Towns
A packed upstairs room in McGeough's was the venue for the Phibsboro' Village Tidy Towns fundraising table quiz last night. Twenty teams battled it out for a selection of wonderful prizes kindly donated by local businesses, but the dastardly difficult questions were no match for first place winners "Z Nation", with "Open Door" and "Beyoncé Know-Alls" coming a close second and third. A raffle followed, which meant few teams left completely empty-handed!
Volunteers and Supporters
PVTT Chairperson Susan Dawson thanked all the participants who came to our first in-person quiz since the pandemic, as well as the many volunteers involved, including Killian who set the questions, John and Conor who compered the evening, Dave who tallied the scores, and Céline who ran the raffle.
She also thanked the local businesses and individuals who generously supported the evening, including The Bald Eagle, McGowan's, Noms, Kennedy's, Fadó Antiques, Neasa Hourigan TD, O'Brien's Wines, Media Central, Dublin City Council and especially Alan and Seamus of The Bohemian for the use of the venue, prizes and for helping us fit in about twice as many teams as expected!
Thanks to this event, vital funds have been raised to help with the continued running of the Phibsboro' Village Tidy Towns group, which has been working for the betterment of our lovely urban village, biodiversity and sustainability since 2014.
Swapping is the New Shopping!
Our next event will be focusing on sustainability. A Clothes Swap will take place in Phibsborough Scout Hall on Saturday 13th May as part of Phizzfest. It's a great opportunity to spring clean your wardrobe. Good quality clothes, costume jewellery, shoes and handbags can be donated from 11-11.30am and swapping will take place from 12-3pm. All are welcome!
